A. Starting Wigs R Us Toronto has been a thrilling and passionate journey. From a young age, I loved wearing wigs to switch up my looks without damaging my natural hair. Inspired by a fabulous friend who always rocked wigs and ponytails, I established Wigs R Us Toronto to provide clients with luxurious, trendy, and high-quality wigs.

Wigs R Us Toronto has been an incredible journey, fueled by my passion for helping women feel confident, especially during challenging times such as medical hair loss. It brings me immense joy to see my clients’ transformation and renewed confidence as they find the perfect wig that makes them feel beautiful and empowered.

Q: What inspired you to start a wig store catering to cancer patients? Was there a personal experience or a particular reason behind this decision?

A. What inspired me to start a wig store catering to cancer patients was witnessing their emotional challenges, especially regarding hair loss. I had a second business location in a medical clinic, where I couldn’t personally cut, color, or style wigs for patients. Instead, I used to refer them to a salon where I knew a highly skilled stylist in wig styling.

However, one day, the stylist contacted me and asked me not to send any more cancer patients to her salon because they would often cry in her chair. This revelation devastated me and made me realize the significant impact hair loss can have on individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Q: What were some of the main obstacles or challenges you faced when starting your business? How did you overcome them?

A. Starting any business comes with its fair share of challenges. One of the main obstacles I faced was finding suppliers who could provide high-quality wigs and hair toppers. Over time, I established strong partnerships and conducted rigorous quality checks to ensure the products met our standards.

In terms of suitability. We have wigs for fashion, medical hair loss, or to switch up your look. Our diverse selection accommodates skin tones, face shapes, and unique styles.

A. We collaborate with various organizations, hospitals, and support groups for cancer patients. These partnerships help us reach our target audience and provide resources and support to those in need. We participate in events, offer discounted services, and contribute to fundraising efforts for cancer-related causes.

Q: How do you see your business positively impacting the lives of cancer patients? Have you received any customer feedback or stories highlighting the difference your wigs and hair toppers have made?

A. Absolutely! We have had countless heartwarming moments where customers have found their confidence and regained their sense of self through our wigs and toppers. Just a few days ago, I was happy to see a client diagnosed with cancer as a kid recently celebrated 5 years cancer-free with her beautiful natural hair that grew back fabulously. Her mother regularly expresses gratitude on our social media accounts, recommending us to others in similar situations highlighting how our wigs and compassionate service helped her daughter feel confident and beautiful during treatment. We are honored to be a part of these incredible journeys and will continue to provide the highest quality service and products to empower cancer patients, especially kids with cancer.

Q: Cancer patients often face emotional challenges due to hair loss. How do you and your team emotionally support your customers during their journey?

A. Creating a safe and compassionate space for cancer patients to find wigs that looked natural and helped them regain their confidence. Witnessing the emotional turmoil and vulnerability of my clients triggered a strong desire within me to provide a supportive environment where they could comfortably explore various wig options and receive personalized styling services. Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of cancer patients by helping them feel beautiful, confident, and empowered during their journey.

Q: As a woman in the wig industry, have you faced any specific challenges or prejudices? How have you dealt with them, and what advice would you give aspiring women entrepreneurs?

A. As a woman in the wig industry, I have faced challenges such as stereotypes and gender biases. However, I have dealt with them by focusing on my expertise, knowledge, and the quality of our products and services. My advice to aspiring women entrepreneurs is to believe in themselves, seek mentorship, and surround themselves with a supportive network.
